The Outdoor Gratitude Log Project

The Outdoor Gratitude Log Project (OGLP) was hatched by the minds behind Mountain Obsession, which is the Global Mountain Tribe. Its purpose is to physically document the feelings and emotions that course through our veins as we stand at a summit / vantage point and take in the incredible view. Log containers have started to be placed on summits around Western Canada and the globe. With time, the goal is collect these log entries and share them with the Global Mountain Tribe through various mediums in order to further our mission and vision. We want to have documented proof of the inspiration that everyday people find when outdoors and share it with the globe. We hope you take the time to search out a log, place a log box or share this page with your friends.

The OGLP is Mountain Obsession’s take on the traditional summit register and the Global Mountain Tribe aims to place 10,000 logs on summits all over the globe.

How to Get Involved?

  •  Print it off (2 sided printing) and place in either a duo-tang or have it bound - Avoid staples
  •  Place the log in a double ziplock bag with 2-3 writing implements (pens, pencils…)
  •  Put the sealed log into a container. Typically a plastic or wood box is used. Start at Wal-Mart and Rona.
  •  Hike up to a summit or amazing location; build a holder out of rock for the log
  •  Take a picture and send it in with the log details, so it can be added to the above list
  •  Feel grateful for playing a part in working towards Mountain Obsession’s Vision
